So lately I’ve been having a problem with my key-less remote for my car. I’m pretty sure last night It failed to work and I didn’t notice. The result was stuff being stolen from my car. I assume it was someone just walking down the street checking door handles.
I didn’t notice anything missing until I got into my parking garage and realized my Zune (Yes I own, correction owned, a Microsoft Zune) was gone. The Zune is a Microsoft version of the i-pod. I thought, great someone stole my Zune, and then I laughed to myself because they stole a Zune. Then I thought out it and realized maybe something else was gone. Sure enough all the change in my car was gone. I had about $10 in change in a cup, not a dime was left.
Then I remembered that on the floor of my car was my camera case. I had taken it to lake Monroe this weekend when we went out there with some friends. We got some great/cool/fun pictures. I looked back and to my relief the case was still on the floor. However, once I opened it my heart sank. Empty. My camera and detachable zoom lens were gone, and right before my vacation to Florida this week.
Of course I filed a police report but I’ve got a better chance of finding it at a pawn shop myself then the IMPD does. I’ve been bummed all day, but the lesson in all of this is that I need to be more careful with my car and what I leave in it. I can be lazy and my thought process was that since I was taking the camera to Florida I’d just leave it “packed” in my car. Now I’ll learn to be more responsible and less lazy.
